How does God Communicate (Part II)? April 22, 2005

As you prepare for our discussion this coming Sunday, I’d like for you to do two things:

  1. Complete the survey. So far, only 4 people have given their opinions. I don’t know who you are, but thank you! But I’d like to get at least 10 or 15 of you to respond. There are only a few questions and it shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes.

For those like who are afraid of getting it wrong, please don’t worry about that! This is really meant as an assessment of what we believe and a discussion starter for Sunday. As with any survey, “right” and “wrong” could well be a difference in the way that you read it versus the way I meant it. But the main thing is that the more that fill it out, the more we have to discuss come Sunday.

  2. Read Jonah again. Or for the first time, if you haven’t already. It’s a really short book, so I promise it won’t take long.

This time, when you read, make special note of two things: a) when God communicates to man or creatures, b) when man communicates with God. In each case, try to pay attention to what is communicated and the response the communication gets. Of course, the object is to apply the lessons we learn to our own lives today.
