Warped Truth October 27, 2005

I’ve run across two articles that illustrate what we’ve been covering in Jude — the idea of “new” truth:

American Idol, Preacher’s Edition

The Salvation Game

To take religion seriously and to earnestly contend for the faith automatically insists that we reject these kinds of innovations. These perversions of truth do exactly what Jude warns about: they forego the basics in hopes of creating something new and exciting to appeal to the flesh.

New isn’t bad; unless, of course, it ignores the core underpinning of our faith.
